Skimmer overflowing after adding 2 part alkalinity

Hi

So I dosed my alkalinity as it was low around 6.8 to bring it up to 9 and dosed 50ml of 2 part alkalinity and my skimmer started going nuts. Is this normal? Should skimmer be turned off when dosing??

I have not had that issue. Are you dosing near the skimmer?

On a side note you should only raise your alkalinity a maximum of 1.4dKh per day and really 1.0 dKh is better especially if you raise it all at once.

No actually it's dosing in the return section of my sump. I found it strange too.

I have not had that issue. Are you dosing near the skimmer?
