Skimmer pump replacement

I have an old SWC BMK 150 where the pump died. I had a bunch of issues with this pump and had to replace it once before, manufacturer replaced it the first time at no cost. I do not want to replace it with the same pump because of this.

What are some good pumps that I could use? I am more concerned about it being silent and reliable than pure power. The LFS owner said a Sicce 600 should work, but I wanted to research it and ask around first.

Yea the sicce is like your only option besides creating your own venturi, which is a more complex diy.

How good is the sicce pump? Am I better off buying a new skimmer? I could get the RO INT 110 for $190 or this sicce for $110. I like the idea of not wasting the skimmer body I have now, but am I wasting money by buying this pump probably at a parts cost? I do like saving $80 overall, but not if the pump is going to be crap.

Sicce pumps are among the best AC pumps on the market

All you have to do is look around at the various brands either using the Sicce pumps directly, or using the body of the pump with their "proprietary" impeller - typically reviewed well.

You could also do an internet search pointing out the same exact thing... ;)
