Alright I need to know the least expensive place to get a ASM G-1X with a recert. kit and gate valve.

Thanks
Arlo

Check w/Mark. He may not have it listed w/recirc. and gate but he can get it and it will be cheaper than the others. Next step up in price would be asmskimmer.com

Arlo the DOC is right, but I wouldn't buy the Gate Valve kit. You can get that at the local hardware store for around $12. I found all the parts at my local Pace/true value hardware store. Why pay 35 or whatever for something you can get for 1/2 that??

I've checked two Lowe's, two Home Depot's, and three Ace Hardware's looking for a 1 1/4 PVC gate valve with no luck. I'm planning on checking Plumber's Supply in Fairview Height's tomorrow.

StupidsReef, was the Ace you found yours at in Granite City? If so, what street is the Ace in GC on?

I don't know about the ACE, I don't think they have the 1 1/4. I found it at the PACE TRUE VALUE hardware off of Namioki Rd.

I ended up ordering my 1" ones from savco (sp?) I couldn't find any at the Lowes, Home Depot, or Ace over on the MO side. I think someone said there was a place down on Hanly near 40 that had them. I did find stop waste or something with a funny name like that but they're not the same. If it's any help I have an extra 1" still.

Opps, I read PACE and thought it was a typo. LOL.
Your ASM G3 takes a 1"? I should have my G3 this week. I almost ordered a 1 1/4" because asmskimmer.com says a 1 1/4 for the G3. I think I'm going to hold off getting a gate valve until I get my skimmer.

No I don't have an ASM. My 1" gates were for my DrB's skimmer manufacturing company 6"X84" skimmer. :D

My first diy skimmer used a ball valve and it was a PITA to set. Every once in awhile I'd have to open/close it a bunch of times to smooth the motion out because I'd try to turn it a tiny bit and by the time it broke friction it would jump too far. I had it down to an art in how to stabalize the turning hand with the other hand. Never using a ball valve for anything precise again.
