Skimmer reccomendations

I am looking to replace my skimmer (Kent EX on a Mag12) it just doesn’t seem to be getting the job done and requires teardown and delimeing too often.

I have not be able to find any comparative analysis of various skimmers and manufactures. So I though perhaps a few of you could offer your experiences to help me select a new unit

My system is 1 x 180 display, 1 x 75 display, 1 x 100 planted refugium, 1 x 100 sump Mixed reef with a modest fish load.

Thanks for your time in responding

Approx 400g total volume? There are a few
Bubble King 300, Super Marine 250
H&S A-250
Deltec 702, 902
Bubble master 250
ATB Med, Large
KZ M model

There's also Reeflo Orca, some of the large Octopus models (don't know off the top of my head) that you can mod, and lots of beckett style skimmers that'd be large enough.

I'll have a 6-month new Euroreef RS250 for sale soon (when my new skimmer comes in). Euroreef rates it for a 180g (heavy load), 250g (average load) with a comparative rating of 550g, whatever that means :)

Thank you for the possible models list; but I was hoping for some feedback on the relative merit or draw backs to specific units. I had a (insert brand here) needle wheel and switched to a (insert brand here) Becket and wad glad/sorry I did ….

Or singing endorsements/ amusing diatribes on any model in this size range. I just cant seem to find this kind of information anywhere and these cost too much money to try shooting fish poop in a barrel.

There really isn't a cheap way of doing this. A good skimmer is going to be expensive.
