Has anyone had any issues with this Skimmer?

SKIMZ SN143 D-SERIES - IN SUMP PROTEIN SKIMMER WITH DC PUMP.

I am thinking about this one. Please Advise..:fun5::fun5::fun5:

I run a Skimz Monzter SM161 on my tank. Not the same I know. Only issue I had was that the air intake barrel leaked and I had to seal both end caps with aquarium sealant. Basically any air adjustment I made never held till I did this modification.

Runs almost silent. Pulls all sorts of nasty gunk out. Have any questions feel free to ask. :)

I have 3 Skimz skimmers and have been using them for 3+ years. They work terrific in my opinion but the pumps can be a pain in the butt. I had two pumps have stray voltage issues. They were the first generation of their pumps though. They were replaced with the newer versions of their pumps and they seem to be working better as they did make some changes. I also have 1 DC pump version and its pump went out as well. I think the impeller was the issue but I just changed the whole pump. I personally see very little value in the DC version of the skimmer. I tried different pump settings and I always end up with it turned up all the way. The controller is just one more piece of equipment that can cause an issue.

The build quality on the skimmer is good, and they pull a ton of stuff out of the water. The newer versions of the pumps seem to have been improved. If there pumps were flawless I would say they are one of the best skimmers performance wise on the market. If the pump goes out again on one I may try something different probably a reef octopus with a bubble blaster pump.
