I'm looking for something flat about 6 inches tall that I can put under my skimmer to raise it up,has to be reef safe as its in the sump.How safe are cinder blocks?
From what i have read you can use a cinder block and all will be ok. As long as you do not mind curing it(keeping it in fresh water and changing the water every few days) for some time 3-6 weeks to stop any leaching. Essentially its the same as the diy rock.
I use wide PVC pipe cut to what ever size I need its cheap and you can typically find a size thats just a hair under what your skimmer base is so it just sits right on it
