Do skimmer ratings still hold true on growout systems?

I personally like more vs. less as far as skimming power. I am using the ASM G4X with the sedra 9000 pump on a total water volume of about 175 gallons. supposed to be able to handle like 350 or 450 gallons, you'd be amazed at the amount of gunk its pulling out. and with only 3 breeding pairs. I feed at least 3 times a day and they make a whole lota waste.

Evasnbr, are the 3 breeding pairs the only fish in the system now ?

Anyone keep breeding systems with no skimming ? How often water changes can be saved with it ?

they are the only fish on the system "full time" I can turn off or down water flow to the larval tanks, so it is used whenever water flows thru the growout tanks. I use about 50 lbs of live rock, growing macroalgae, the G4X skimmer and a remote DSB for filtering in a 50 gal horsetrough sump.
