what should i feed this guy i am currently feeding flake, carnivore and vegi pellets and mysis shrimp is that good enough?

This is a sand sifting goby. It is likely going to starve to death in a 37 gallon reef tank but in the mean time will strip your live sand of useful critters.

I dont think it was criticism, its just the truth. These gobies eat the critters that live in your sand bed. They might eat prepared foods, but probably wont get the nutrition they need to survive from those prepared foods.

To answer your question you could try pretty much any frozen, flake, or pellets. I would try some meatier foods.

Sorry to hijack but i bought a dragon goby a few months back and after reading this im a little concerned. He eats mysis ,brine and pellets like theres no tommorow i also have a pretty large pod population in the fuge but only a 1-2" sand bed in the display, he still sifts threw it but i dont think theres much living in there. When you say strip the live sand of useful critters do you mean pods? Is this guy doing more damage to my system than good?
