Sleeping fish and coral

Just wondering if the moonlight LED things would keep my fish from sleeping. I've noticed that one of my polyp's stays open all night long if I leave the LED's on and wasn't sure if this was bad for him or the other fish, thanks.

If it is open all the time - daylight and moonlights - you may have too many LEDs - the polyps may not realize it's night time.

Well what do I do about my dumb polyp problem then, is there anything I can feed it to make it smarter?? Maybe play a little classical music as it sleeps??

you can put a plain white piece of paper between the LED and the glass (if you have a glass top) to diffuse the light. I did this with my 1st moonlight because it was so bright.

IMO...you should always have a period of total darkness.....even if its only 3 hours.....

I turn mine off....promotes algae growth
