Slug vs Peppermint Shrimp

I just put in some live rock and i can tell algae is starting to grow, i have bubble algae and some strange borwning on my sand. Anyways, the only thing I have in the tank so far is 3 lbs of Live Rock in 2.5 Gallon tank, I was thinking about adding a peppermint shirmp to help combat some of the crud in the tank, but I was worried about my little Slug Hitchhiker, will the Peppermint shirmp try to eat him?

what kind of slug is it?
if its a nudibrach it will probably starve anyway so just get the shrimp
but i dont think he will eat slugs anyway
he will eat small polyps (and aptasia) and take food away from anemones and other slow critters (at least thats what the book i have says)

He just looks like a snail without his shell
