Small clams spawning...?

I recently put two small clams (2-3") into my 15G and they appear to be doing quite well. They've only had a week with me yet I already love them and am excited to keep them happy and hopefully get a few more.

However, last night I believe either one or both of them spawned as I awoke to very cloudy water.

Today I've been skimming like crazy and changing the water as much as I can.

Are clams this small even able to do this?

Has anybody experience this in a nano before? If so, what did you do and how did it affect your other corals?

ID would be appreciated too if you can....

yes these clams are big enough. Skim, run carbon and waterchanges, if all goes well you should be fine. When clams spawn it is because they are stressed, have you made any recent changes to things?

The clam on the left may be a maxima, need a top down pic to be sure. The one on the right is definatly a crocea

I wish! I randomly pulled it up off of google...





Thanks for the helps. The clams certainly have been a little stressed. A few days ago I move a lot rock around in my tank and really stirred things up. Everything has calmed down now and water params are in check.



Still cloudy so I'm continuing to mix salt water.

They aren't overly colourful clams - yet I thought I would start cheap and make sure they do alright in my tank. Currently they are receiving 50W T5 HO and 70W MH HQI.
