hey guys just checking the tank this morning with a flashlight and found some small clear anemonys they look different than aptasia and mojo and hides in dark places when the lights come on it shrank back i found some in my daughters tank also behind the rocks i don't have any pics yet maybe nest weekend thought you all might know by discription and are they bad and if bad how bad

I have small white looking anemonies?? that resemble gorgonian polyps growing in dark recesses of my tank but to my knowledge they are harmless.

@themadreeferTN: I have those in my tank at work, I think. Only grow behind things out of the direct line-of-sigt of light. About 1/4" long.

Chris I think you're referring to Scypha sponges...

In my opinion any anenome that spreads and I didn't put in the tank is bad... It would be different if I found only one, but finding multiple is usually bad news...

I have found a few clear anenomes with ball tips usually underneath frags or rocks where there is little to no light... I usually kalk them just to be sure they don't spread...

Yeah, that's what I have. Pretty cool little things. Didn't know if I needed to go nuclear on 'em, though. Look pretty safe.

Check Pseudocorynactis, I bet that is what you're referring to. Just google it and let us know if that is the one...
