Small puffer in a reef?

What are you concerned about? My Valentini has not shown any interest in corals. She was small when I frist got her, and apparently hunger, because she nipped all the hitchhiking small tube worms from the live rock. They have regenerated and she is no longer interested in them. I housed her with a cleaner shrimp w/out incident, and there are still some ceriths in the tank. I'm not sure if she fed on the Nassarius or not, but I do not see them any longer. Snails and hermit crabs might be at risk. It will depend on the size of the toby and the size of the potential prey, I think, when the toby goes into the tank. She is a great fish, though.

i have always wanted to try a velentino puffer in a reef tank myself, i have heard that some nip corals and your inverts are not safe. but i have never had one so that is all hear say or what i have read.

i will be curious as to what other will say aswell.

Would you suggest adding it last so other things could find their place in the tank? How often do you feed your valentini?

I kept a bluespot for a long time and he was very docile but also curious. He sampled corals occassionally but did not kill them. I never trusted him with shrimp though.
