My wife is a fifth grade teacher and she has told her students about my tanks, now they are begging me for a tank with a star fish in the classroom. I have a 10, 20 and 29 gallon I could use for this but haven't decided which one yet but when I do I may need some help from some of you guys on locating some livestock, I have most of the hardware for now I'm trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. This tank is going to remain in this classroom except for when school is out some of these children have never seen the ocean so I'm going to bring as much as I can to them. I'm not begging for a handout but Imay nned some help in the near future locating some livestock reasonable.

well, get it up this week, & talk your wife into coming to MOntgomery on Sat, and get you some good deals on some frags!!! :lmao:

Just PM me with what you are looking for, I do not have a lot but whatever I can do to help. Except the water changes I do enough at home LOL.

be sure your wife checks with the school about a fish tank, my daughter teaches and she wanted to set one up and the school said she was welcome to but all power to the tank had to be shut off every night :/

Are you considering salt or freshwater?
My wife had a small reef tank in her room for 2 years.
She really enjoyed it, but it was a PIA for myself.
The tank was 17 miles away and even though my wife performed water changes, there were holidays to worry with, long weekends with no fish feeding, Thanksgiving break, Christmas break , Spring break, etc. etc. etc. There was classroom fumigations to worry about, floor waxings, not to mention unintentional power outages. If it was winter, but we had a hot weekend, my wife might not have turned on the AC in her room because it was still March, but the temp over the weekend went to 80 and the tank went to 85.
Please, I implore you to think carefully before you do this. Remember, the smaller the tank the faster things change.

The school is only a few miles and I have considered those things. I believe we are going to use the 29g we have in the garage, I have had good luck moving tanks in the past. Most weekends she will have access to the building long holidays I will move it or the inhabitants to a second tank at home. It will be a pain for me but I am going to give it a shot.
