around 1-2 inches.
just exactly how much more difficult are they than 3-4 inch ones?
this is in regards to max and crocs

"exactly" i cant say. they tend to have a higher mortality rate. how much higher? i would try to avoid them
 
you think you can come up with a rough % Chris&Barb of their mortality? assuming they are properly acclimated.

No i can't. there's a lot more to it then proper acclamation. and i wish i new what "it " is/was.

I guess it's just like anything else, the older or younger you are, the more vulnerable/subsceptible you are to things.

The best experiences I've had with clams have been in the 3" range. they seem to ship and acclamate the best.
