Snails in and around the overflow...?!

Does anyone know the reasoning behind Nerite Snails constantly stacking up around my overflow box with some finding their way up and over into the box??
It seems like everyday I'm pulling them off the wall or out of the overflow....

They are keeping it clean.. I say leave them be.. I have a few in my boxes ... They come and go as they wish..

Just as long as you have plenty of drain capacity and a emergency in case they decide to go in the drain pipe..

Nerite snails are inter tidal snails. In the wild they will climb out of the water in shallow tide areas when sps colony's are exposed. This is normal for them. You can let them move as they see fit but be sure they don't end up outside the tank. :)

when my nerite's were new to my tank, they would go for 'walks' outside the tank for the first couple weeks. my tank didn't have a cover either. so you can imagine me stepping on snails in the morning and getting a scare of my life

after a couple of weeks, they kinda realize the the edges of their domain and now stay in the tank :)
