Snorkeling in Culebra PR

Snorkeling in Culebra Puerto Rico next week. Anyone have experience there, any advice? My girlfriend and I have our own equipment and have snorkeled before, we are also good swimmers but this time we'll be pretty much on our own. I'm a little worried about snorkeling off the beach and how far out I would have to go. I want to enjoy and feel comfortable at the same time. I'm packing a snorkel vest. Anything I should be heads up about for safety and comfort?

its beautiful there. I used to live in PR and used to go to Culebra, Vieques, Icacos and many other small islands around there. They are all awesome!

WOW - what a trip. Highly recommended!! I saw so many 'aquarium' fish; schools that numbered in the dozens swimming right next to me, giant worms, sea fans, brains, tangs, damsels, even coral banded shrimp. I was awestruck. Culebra is the most beautiful place I've seen yet.
