snorkeling near clearwater,fla

Does anyone know of any good spots to snorkel from the beach near clearwater,fla. Heading there in a few weeks would like to do some snorkeling there but dont know where to go thanks

There's not that many places around here. Most of our stuff is deeper. It's not like the Keys. Some beaches like Passagrille down in St Pete have a rock jetty and small pier that you can snorkel around. Be careful around the end of the pier as the current really moves. Most of us spearfish around here on tanks.

You could probably drive up to Crystal River area to snorkel some stuff.

My father and I used to frequent howard park beach in tarpon springs for snorkeling before we were certified 5 yrs ago. The south corner of the beach is a very popular spot for snorkeling and at any given time þhere are around a half dozen snorkelers.
