Does anyone have any fish suggestions? I currently have a pair of firefish and a clown in my 20h, but this 37 will be open top so all I am keeping is the clown. The tanks dimensions are 20x18x24. I wanted to make a post just in case I am leaving out some ideas for great additions. Thanks :)

I forgot to add I will have about 3" of arag. in the bottom of this tank.

The only fish I am absolutely sold on so far is my current clown and a midas blenny. Are midas blennies known jumpers? For some reason I almost recall of one jumping. I hope I am wrong.

I'm in the same situation as you. I'm setting up my 36g bowfront aquarium. I know for a fact I'm getting a Black Perc and a False Perc for my centerpiece fish. I am still trying to decide on a Flame Angel or a Watchman Goby. Leaning more toward the Watchman Goby though.

For my 4th (and likely final) fish I wanted something that spent more time swimming around and less time hanging in once place or hidden away all day. People suggested a Blue Chromi which I'm leaning toward.

I would LOVE to try some sort of pygmy angel, but it's hit or miss with those. I wish I could find a LFS with one in their coral tanks so I could be sure it wouldn't bother corals. I want a Potters angel soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad.

I have a yellow watchman goby in my 37gal. with about 50lbs LR. They are a great fish. I also have a barber pole goby. He has a yellow face, white body with dark bands like barber pole, also very cool, clown fish and purple firefish. I tried a 1/2 black dwarf angel, he did not bother any of the smaller fish but snack on most of my soft corals so had to trade him.

That's what I am afraid of :( I just hate to add the fish, have him be ok for a few weeks then come home to alot of unhappy corals. Also, catching him would be a pita. All this is something I would have to worry about *If* I could even get him to eat properly. :(

I would like to have a cool slightly larger fish to occupy the water column and run in and out of the rockwork. I think dwarf angels are awesome but I am of course open to any fish suggestion that would be fine for an open top tank with about 3" of sand

:) Thanks for all the input so far.

Well, at a particular LFS I frequent, I was quoted a price of 30 bucks for a Potter's angel. I am going to have him order me one in about a month and if it's eating and looks healthy, I am going to give it a shot :)

Stock list so far:

- 1 False Perc
- 1 Midas Blenny (Pending comments on jumping)
- 1 Potters angel

I really like watchman gobies. A buddy of mine has one and he's the coolest little guy. He is fat enough to resemble a yellow cigar. It's the plumpest watchman i've ever seen. I think a watchman would be a great addition. If I just have those 4 fish, I think I will get a pair of cleaner shrimp and that shall wrap up the livestock list. :)

There needs to be some facts presented before you purchase anything.
1. Fish jump as a defensive tactic - many things to include flickering lights and stray voltage can spook fish into believing they are in danger of a larger predator.

2. Dwarf Angels (most species) can be classified as detritivores - coral mucus is waste or detritus, and new or acclimating corals will produce excess mucus.

A tank should be mature and all corals well acclimated for at least 2mths before the addition of a dwarf angel.
This will increase the chances of success as opposed to bringing home a coral eater.

Thanks Ed. I have absolutely NO experience with dwarfs angels and this is exactly the type of input im looking for. Thanks :)
