Social Distancing- Enjoy your Reef

Love the collection! The one on the upper right hand side looks sort of like a Sherman (at least from the distance of where the video clip was shot from).

This is with different lighting. my friend says its a Sherman but I've never bought a Sherman as I hear they cost more than a RBTA

Untico,
That is really cool. Have you had problems with the anemones moving and / or stinging each other? It looks like you have some nice coral in there as well....

My single RBT is huge and it really doesn't move, but, it is so big, that it has killed off the edges of my frogskin...

Just wondering and again, really nice collection...

Randy

I'm by no means an anemone expert as BTA's have really started to get fancy names and IDs within the past few years. I've had my RBTA since 2005 before all the fancy names and a few people have ID'd it as a Sherman. Depending on lighting, the tentacle and base will shift in color. I've had mine under power compacts (yes, you read correctly) and MH and color intensity of tentacles and base always improved whenever I replace with new bulbs. What color is the foot?

Mine wears shoes and can't see the foot, hahaha
I'll have look real close though since the foot is in a hole. What color is the foot on a Sherman??

I think the high flow helps to keep them in place. I try to stick their foot in a crevice or I'll make with one with a couple of rocks and glue them, then I place the nem and they never move and if the start I try to push them back with an acrylic rod, usually that's all it takes. It scares them [emoji317] As for stinging each other, my Orange nems killed my first two greens that I introduced, but never bothered my red anemone that my friend thinks it's a Sherman? then I introduced some Rainbows and they bleached to almost white but I continued feeding them and they recovered. After that the fighting is over and I've introduced 3 green anemones and 5 rainbows. Now I have two babies not sure what type that look bleached but they're recovering and I'm sure they'll make it. One thing is for sure my nems never Split??

I have rainbow BTAs starting at $50 for 3-5”ones. $60 for 6-7” $70 for 8-10” in west Anaheim.

I hear a lot of recommend of no mixing different type of BTA but I don't see any problem at all in the video. how many type of bta in the tank and how long you have them together? Tank look amazing.

My tank crashed in November and killed my previous batch of anemones, only a tiny Sherman and a rainbow survived and I started adding nems after that once tank settle (magnets from Ocean Motion unit) all the clowns and just about all the fish and lps and sps for sure. When the Sherman started growing I added three small orange anemones. After that every time I added a rainbow they would all bleach but would survive so I used to lame the orange ones but now some people tell that Sherman's are tough in Chemical warfare. The first couple of greens that I added only one made it after it bleached . I stopped carbon since a couple of Blue tangs that survived the crash developed real bad lateral line disease and I didn't want to make things worse for them. I started using Purigen and that's it.
So Now I have 1 Sherman
3 Orange nems
3 Greens
8-10 Rainbows

Looking for a Red RBTA
Anyone in the Inland Empire!
