Soft coral food

Just wondering if I should put anything in to feed the soft coral in the tank? I'm going with softs only as this is my first aquarium. I thought they got most of their food from the lights but stumbled on this product vitalis soft coral food. Is it a gimmick or should I consider purchasing it?

In general you do not need to feed them.

Some people have claimed they have seen better growth from feeding their corals and others haven't seen a difference at all..

What specific soft corals do/will you have?

I agree most don't need fed, so generally don't waste your time and money on coral food. Some need fed.

Unless your dealing with Non-Photosynthetic corals, I wouldn't worry about feeding your softies either.

If you have good lights, they are eating well.
If you have fish, they are eating even better.
