Soft coral placement

Hi all. Thinking of getting couple of pieces of soft coral from Lfs next week. Am just wondering about placement. Should I start them all on the sand bed or could I place them where I want them to go straight away? Thing is at £30-£40 they are not cheap and want to do the best for them.

You want to acclimate them to your lights. I've found it best to put them on the sand bed first then slowly work them up to where you want them.

Lots of soft corals. Some need as much light and flow as SPS (yellow Fiji leather), and some need low light and flow. Some are non-photosynthetic.

What corals are you getting?
