Soft Coral Spacing

I have seen in mature tanks and show tanks soft coral actually touching each other. I was curious as to what is the spacing you would deem adequate for softies. I mean I dont want to crouwn them but at the same time it would be gould to know when they mature.
 
depends on coral. my cladelia & kenia tree don't like 2 be 2 close together, they compete 4 light, my sinularia is very huge, so i have nothing 2 close 2 it. look forward in your plannig and leave room 2 grow. my anemone settled just beneath another kenia tree forcing it upwards. they can move, but this migration is taking a couple of months 4 a couple of centimeters. in the proses the tree devide in 2. so it worked out well 4 me.
