Softie 180, thoughts?

So i am thinking about setting up my 180 next year as a softie tank. I recently saw an SPS dominated tank and didn't really want to have as complicated a sump as he had. I don't want to have to dose daily with anything. I want to be able to go away for a day or two and not have the tank crash due to PH or alkalinity. Does anyone have recomendations on building this type of system? I was choosing Soft corals since they are currently doing well in my tank and i wouldn't mind a similar setup in a larger scale. The LPS i have in my tank are also doing decently and that would lead me to believe they could persist in a 180.

I have the 180Bowfront6*2*2ish- about 250 lbs of LR enough sand for a 3inch sandbed. I am considering converting my 24 Gal nano to an above tank Seahorse refugium & macroalgae forest.

I would be lighting with the 72inch nova extreme pro, i've seen the 4" on a 120 and it was so bright the dude pulled out 2 blubs.

I want to keep costs down. I am thinking I could build a really cool softie tank and do just that.

I hear about people's tanks crashing from PH or alkalinity like over night. What can i do to midigate that risk on a Softy tank? I just use ReefCrystals and do my 20% water change every 2-3 weeks. This upkeep is great, i fear that bumping the tank to a 180 would make it more dangerous...But its worked for me very well for almost a year now.

The reason i want to do a softy tank is because i don't want to daily dose and go crazzy. I know my water changes will be dramatically larger but if that is the only change i will be very pleased.

Larger tanks are easier to keep stable chemistry wise. You have more water volume which makes it less likely for a level to spike overnight. SPS tanks aren't really as hard to keep up with as you make them seem. Though they are a challenge, an will occasionally break your heart.

My favorite tank was an all softie tank. (check out my red house). They are more forgiving and have more mov't. I added alot of anthias for color and it was a great conversation peice at the house. I say go for it!
