Ok, would to clean a water condition effect my softies? My candy's are not opening like they used to at all, and have recieded and one of my frog spawns have shrunk and dropped some tenticles.. My acro's are thriving like mad and seem to be very happy and getting deeper in color.. My zoanthids are very happy to as well and my blasto's.. Just the candy's and frog spawns? Any idea's? I run my skimmer a bit wet and remove a lot. although these last few days I haven't seen as much as i used to. all water levels are normal. I do feed cyclopeez.. Tonight i looked in the tank and the candy's have extended there feeds when lights are out..

Are you noticing signs in your soft corals as well as LPS? How long have the LPS been acting this way? Any changes recently? How close are they to one another?
Long tentacled corals will fight battles at night you'll never see. They have long sweepers that can run up to a foot long, and will sting the bejesus out of anything it touches. Usually that's noticeable by a dead-spot near the strike. If you're just getting reduced extension, it could be a number of things. Change any flow around lately? Have a clown that's looking for a home? When you say "Candy", you're talking about "candy cane" corals, or those distant cousins of Blastumosa, who's name escapes me at the moment....?

The Common Name "Candy" refers to the Caulastrea Echinulata. While the Common Name "Candy Cane" refers to the Caulastrea Furcata.
