Solaris meets Haddoni

I just got a Solaris, which has been an extremely exciting event for me. (Especially since I had to get it shipped to Japan)

My anemone seems to love it so far and opened up so wide that I had to hastily move all of the nearby coral out of its way. I will have to rearrange them once I get a chance this weekend.

This is the 250W model of Solaris, and I have it currently set to white lights 70% power and blue lights 100% power. It's tempting to put it at 100% power just to see how bright it would be, but I think that would be too much for a haddoni.

wow nice anemone, and tank setup. what is the red colored coral on the left side of the anemone?

btw congrats on the light purchase!

Nope, it's the older discontinued G series model which is only 250W. The H4 and I series are 400W. I chose this model since I only wanted a max of 250W and because it was being clearanced off at the store I found it at. The H4 and I series appear to be sold out until January. Anticipation of the Christmas season perhaps?

Nice light and love the Nem.

My work sent me to Tokyo for two weeks earlier this year, I came back and told them if they ever have an opening for my position over there, I would move in a heartbeat. =)

wow, nice new.. after seeing a bunch of red haddonis looking not good at all, yours looks awesome..the lighting looks sweet too.. but your haddoni is awesome!!

I expected to see a pic of a haddoni eating a solar wrasse.:D
Awesome tank & what a beautiful anenome.

I was using a 150W clip-on MH lamp. I had severe temp and evaporation issues with that thing, not to mention that it couldn't give the lighting that the solaris does.

Me too ;>)

So, how much do you save in electricity now?

Great pic!

Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you how much I am saving in electricity since my utilities are included in my rent package.

I also expected too see a solar on it way down!
The anemone is very nice! Is it about 18" across? My blue finally settled and has started to open up!

Actually, the place I bought it from claims it is only 7.5 inches, but it seems a whole lot bigger than that. My tank isn't huge by the standards of this forum though, so that may be skewing the perception of size.

I'd love to see pictures of your blue. when did you put it into the tank? what kind of lights are you using on it?

In my past experiences, Haddoni anemones fully inflate to their maximum when the light they are under is evenly distributed (T5s and solaris lighting).
