does anybody have a recommendation for an electronic solenoid to turn off the feed to an ro/di unit that i can plug into a timer to only run for a limited amount of time per day?
I bought one of These on ebay. It makes a slight hum when it is on but isnt that big of a deal since its on a timer and only turns on for 20 minutes out of the day mostly while Im sleeping.
get a stainless steel N.C. solenoid off of Ebay I sold Kevin "Itzme" mine when I shut down my big system it worked great. ask kevin.. make sure its rated for continuous or long term duty or it will overheat the solenoid if you use something like a refrigerator water solenoid that works for only a couple minutes
This is the one you want eBay #300011881725
this can run for hours on end and not even get warm. just get 1/4" johnny gusset fittings for it. you dont even hear that it is on.
i put it on the "main water line" to the RO unit which completely shut the unit down when not in use. you can activate by a timer or float level system.
if you read on the on you posted it cautioned to be aware of placement because of extreme heat from the solenoid
