Some coral not opening

Its been about a month and a couple of my corals aren't opening really at all. They do open up some more at night but during the day they are almost always closed up. The two corals are a duncan and a branching frogspawn. I have other corals like torch, frogspawn, hammer, xenia, mushrooms, polyps, etc and they all open fully everyday. The duncan nor branching frogspawn are close to any other coral. I have even starting running carbon thinking maybe something was in the water they didn't like but no change. Any ideas or things to try?

I believe you should ok with the Duncan and the Branching Frogspawn for as light, they can vary with the light as long as they are acclimated properly to the light. I have seem both of them in top and bottom of tanks under all types of lights. Honestly, they may be getting too much light. It also can be too much flow on them. Both of those corals are low to moderate for flow. I have a Duncan on the sandbed in the corner and same with a hammer which is the same requirements as a frogspawn. Mine seems to do best when it's just enough flow to barely move the tentacles.

You just counteracted your own answer there. First you say not to move them and they can acclimate to any light, then you say they could be getting too much light. Which are you going with?

As you said towards the end of your paragraph, they do better under low flow and low lighting conditions.

They are in the same positions they were before when they were opened fully. Nothing has changed with the exception of runnning more BRS GFO to help deal with a algae issue. I know lps likes some "dirty" water but yet my xenia is growing like a weed. So I wouldn't think the water is too stripped to grow.
