hey im confused with the whole day light and blue light thing. When are the white lights sappose to be one and when are the blue light sappose to be on?

Daylights are the ones that run during the day to simulate the sun. The white daylights usually run from 10-12 hours.

The blues/actinics...they are mostly to create a morning/evening effect, and to even out the yellow look that the daylights often give out.

These will come on a half hour to an hour before the daylights, STAY ON during the whole day along with the daylights, and then after the daylights shut off, these stay on another half hour to an hour.

i have mine like this

Attanic's (blue) on 6am
daylight bulbs on 7am
daylight bulbs off 5pm
Attanic's off 6pm

hope thats helps also my moonlights are always on

yup yup the "actinic" are the blue lights they go on an hr b4 and an hr after the 10k's assuming thats what you have. then when both are off you should have "moon lights"

but wait a sec i was told that lights should on be one around only 4 hours a day or is that when curing the rock.

everyone has some method. theres no right or worng i guess. im going thru a cylce now im a week and a half into it and i have my lights on 8-9 hrs a day.

4 hours a day would be fore the initial cycle i think.. We are trying to simulate tropical environments here, the days have a very small range - around 12 hours daylight since they are equatorial.

IMO, it doesnt really matter how long you run the lights during the cycle...you're gonna run into algae either way...weather you run them 4 or 10 hours. I've always run them normal hours, like 10 to 12 hours, during the cycle, because i've always had bits of coral here and there on my rocks.
