A couple questions, what kind of growth rates are you getting with your sps ? How long has this particular tank been running? and what kind of camera are you using ?
Thanks! The growth rates on the SPS are pretty dismal under the 14K Pheonix bulbs. I supplement them with 4 URI VHO actinics so...I will probably be switching to 10K's next bulb change.
The tank has been running for about 1 year. Some coral/fish are from a previous 120gal that was set up in '99.
Very nice tank and very nice pictures. The only thing I would comment about is the bluish tint in them. Try different preset WB or maybe try to preset the WB or shoot in RAW and adjust WB in post processing. Do you have any suplemental White lighting on this tank or is it only the 14K?
I really like the clean and neat look of this tank.
Thanks! The blue is a little overwhelming. I try and fix it with the photo edit program I have but....it does a little but not a lot. I'm going to have to re-read on how to set the white balance on the D50. The tank really doesn't look THAT blue of course. I have the 14K's and 4, 46.5", URI SuperActinic bulbs. Thanks for the critique.
If I'm not mistaken the White balance adjustment was removed from the D50. The D70 had it. They dropped it from the D50 to lower the price (thank goodness) I enjoy mine much!
I think you can still do a preset white balence on the D50. It's in the manuel and there is a "preset" on the camera wb menu. I just havent had a chance to fool around with it much. I definitly will though.
