That's a sargassum trigger, no? Cool fish.

Love the flame hawk too. Looks like you've done a great job keeping his color up. Mine absolutely loves spectrum pellets, and they seem to do a nice job on his color too. Do you have any shrimp with the hawk?

Thanks!!!

The Trigger is actually a female Bluejaw Trigger.

I have a male Bluejaw in there as well.

I like spectrum pellets to but do not use them in my SPS reef as they add phosphates.

He eats mysys shrimp, krill, prime reef and formula 2 frozen cubes.

I have a fire shrimp in there with him,

he does not bother it at all.

Chris

Cool - I was torn between sargassum and female blue jaw. I feed the spectrum pellets, but I only have softies in my reef. Were there already shrimp when you added the hawk? I had two peps in my tank when the hawk came, and they were gone in about a day.

FTS looks nice too.

Thanks Again!!
Ya
I believe I had 2 cleaner shrimp in there when he was added.

I have had several Sargassum's but I have had no luck in theme living very long.

Cool fish though.

Man, absolutely love the horn and epaulette. The horn shark is in my top 3 "most wanted" list and I love dreaming about having one someday. I'm extremely jealous.

Beautiful fish all around! I'm sure you can update this thread next week.....

coraline.....I will have it some day.

Thanks Grouperhead!!!

The horn is either a Japanese horn or Mexican horn not sure which.

Dan

Ya I hope the clown trigger is sweet.

Chris

Chris, your fish look great.

I went with the Humu and clown triggers. I will post some pics when I get some good ones.

Do the horns require a chiller? Also, do you have a link to a thread with dimensions, etc. of your shark tank?

Thanks, Bo

Bo
I do not run a chiller they adapt pretty well to warmer water.

My current shark system is 590 gallons consisting of one 300 gallon tank 5'x3'x30" linked to a standard 240 via a 50 gallon sump with a G4X skimmer.

I plan on building a 1000 gallon pond in the near future 10x5x2.5.

What kinda of fish do you have now?

Just the ones in my sig. Have had the undy since 2002 when she was very small (2" or so.) Just recently set up the 110, and the wrasse and grouper are both about 4" so they have some time to grow. The banded moray is around 20" or so, but it's real hard to get a guess on him. I'll try to get some pics this weekend when I'm at home.

I finish school in December and am hoping on using some graduation money + money saved from work to set up one final tank - I think I either want a dragon moray or a shark tank. It's a while down the road though, so I have plenty of time to plan it out. :)

I don't really know she is female but she never lost the stripes on her nose, so I always considered her a female. I've only seen one undy in captivity without the nose striping though, and it was a member here. She's grown from a silver dollar sized juvy to the 6" she is now. Only have her in a 55, but she seems very happy. She has two caves one at each end, and undy's don't seem to be as active as some of the other triggers. She didn't even play nice when she was a baby :D

Chris,
My LFS has a show size clown trigger. I wanted to buy him until I heard that he was traded in because he was attacking the person's large angels.
I went with smaller (approx 4 inch ones). My Humu was from Diver's Den. My Clown will be here by 10:30AM tomorrow. I purchased it from Reefhotspot (my first order from them).

Undy's are sweet little devils that is for sure!!!

I think the stripes on the nose is just a different place they were collected from.

I have had some with those and dots with a bright orange tail.

I have also thought like you if it was a male female thing.
