Some small frags

Just sharing some sps with you guys. The PE is crazy but the color is not that impressive :(

I'm still trying to get my pH up to 8 and mag to 1300 and alk to 10 dKH.

Here is my current parameters:
pH 7.7-7.9(day)
Mag 1260
dKH 7.6

Not running any CA reactor or dosing 2-parts yet.. Just topping off with kalk water. Maybe this is the reason I'm not getting the numbers I want?

I'm leaning toward a tenius, but it look like something else.

This I am hoping it would be an oregon tort

Your SPS look very happy. :) Topping off with kalk will help to keep your levels stable but if you want to increase them you will need to dose. Check Randy's forum for his 2-part recipe. Use the one where you bake the baking soda as this will help to get your PH up.

Accually I am impressed with the color, I think you have done a great job, they look very happy.

Great pics,
Whiskey

i don't understand how your ph is so low if you are using kalk. great pieces though, and great color; the brown tends to go away.

that is nice n amazing? y r u not satisfied with the result? if i have half of this... im crazy..... hahahahaha.....

why do you want your alk so high?

I think there is a consensus that it is best to keep your alk at 9-10 dKH.

The color to me look a little light and there is brown on each one. I hope that some of these pieces will color up much more if I have a stable and correct parameters. The major problem I think is the pH being so low.

Exactly, I dont' know why.. I was told that maybe because I am only topping off with kalk water to my tank that is taking up the magnesium so quickly that screw some of the parameters.

-----Be careful with dosing with baking soda---you can overdose.

-----Also, if you plan on keeping your Acro frags long term, you may want to move that frogspawn away. In one pic it looks mighty close to the acro.
----Go get some SEACHEM BUFFER, be sparing, but dose according to the bottle.
-----Corals look great though, by the way.
-----Are you sealing the top off water you mix the KALK in?(if it is stored rather than mixed right before going in the display, it will lose efficacy if not sealed.
---Kalk will loose its abilities if exposed to C02, so this is why your levels may be inconsistent despite Kalk dosing. Look into a drip system----heres a link---http://www.innovativeaquatics.com/products/nautilis2.html
---here s a link with feedback on a product like this

---Take a look at this and put it in consideration, you will love it.

---Ixnay the CA reactor, if going KALK and 2 parts ---unless you just have the money and want to get one then NICE
----I personally like my ALK at 10 too , so i say go for it.

----You need to get the PH up to about 8.1-8.3, and you will be home free. Let the corals be where they are, and gain some stability. Keep up with your maintenance and enjoy. Your coral look great and are on the way.

thanks for the inputs. I will look into it. Dont have a refug, so can't do the reverse lighting scheme.

dont' bother with seachem buffer, your wasting your money.
you are fine with baking soda, though i might suggest baking it to drive off co2 and help raise your ph.

I read up the randy 2 part and I think I am going to use that temporary until I get my CA reactor up. I'm too lazy to fill it up :D
