Some updates on my nano... and a few ?

DVM in training
so even though odds are that i am out of the hobby in may when i graduate college in may (unless i get into grad school here) i want to make this the most beautiful dismantled nano ever by then...

i FINALLY bought salifert Ca and Mg tests today... 480 calc, 1350 Mg... still no salifert Alk tests to be found in the area, but i suppose that is my value that is off causing the coraline growth to be almost non-existant... once i fix it im hoping the purple will explode..

the phosban reactor is working GREAT at eliminating all the algae, where my tank used to be a thick sheet of brown with air bubbles attached to it there is only small layers of brown that grow in daily and are eaten at night by snails and hermits only to grow again the next day.

my purchase of a refractometer has kept my SG at acceptable levels after god knows how long of them being too high...

i got so tank happy today that i bought myself a brazilian flameback angel with my store credit - woot... beautiful little guy eating live brine and CE already...

so questions now:

i wanna stock my tank up,,, i really like euphyllia and i am looking for a decent pink hammer, and id probably pay quite a bit for a few gold ricordia.

id also like to try my hand at some sps... i really like tabling acros and monti caps if anyone has either/both of those for a decent price i have the perfect place for it... if you look at the pic below itll be to the right of the left rock structure and to the left of the arch... right there the flow is sick and broad and the MH is right above that area... so i think itll make a good placement.

where can i find pickling lime locally? ive checked a few publix with no luck, anyone around south miami find any recently? where? id like to start dripping kalk once i start with one or two sps...

sorry for the size of this pic... camera phone uploaded directly, so i havent had the time to edit it yet.

I had a really hard time finding pickling lime up here in Tallahassee, but I found it, but down south I've never even seen it anywhere. It's usually a really rural thing, as they only sold it here at some ghetto rural supermarket place, but actually seasonally they sold it at publix. Apparently people up here like to pickle their own vegetables. Either way, if you want to wait a week and can't find any down there, I can pick you up a few cans of Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime, and when I come home Friday, you could come pick them up from Boca Raton.

Your tank is looking great though, and it's off to a good start. The purple will come with time, regardless of dosing regiments and such. I know it sucks to have to wait, but that's just how it goes...

well actually, higher alk levels along with good strontium levels help excel corraline algaes growth.

tank looks good btw!

Ive heard alot of publixs would be able to special order a case of it for you if you ask them.
