I've seen a few cases where different colored Monti caps have fused together to grow as one. Someone try this...

Theoretically, the hybrid could grow with alternating orange and green stripes.

I tried it with my green and orange cap. ,I glued 3 green frags surronding an orange frag and when they started growing closer the green frags took over and bleached the orange one and grew over the top of it.

I had 4 color morphs of digitada that I super glued together, kinda of a different color for every branch thing, looked cool and stayed seperate colors. Th glue joint stayed white though. It gre a white sort of hump were they would have fussed together.
I've seen caps of different colors whirling in and out of one another, I think they need to be the same species of cap though. So many montiporas that whirl like a cap are mis ID and are different species. Thats probably what happened with yours rxdi, but I could be wrong
