Someone please explain EcoSmart Live vs. Reef Link?

I am setting up my IM Fusion 40. I'm not new to reef keeping - not a newbie, but it's been a handful of years and technology has advanced. I am computer literate, however !! LOL

So... I can't figure out the difference between EcoSmart and Reef Link.

I have a brand new Radion XR15W Pro = all set up on IM Fusion Tank with Ecotech MP10 and other accessories.

Do I need to buy Reef Link to set a schedule? Or do each of the Ecotech W devices allow me wifi access? Can I set my Radion 15w light with an App (EcoSmart) or do I need to pay, of buy Reef Link.

Very confusing. Was kinda hoping that the 'W' status of the link / pump allowed me to download an app and customize settings right away. Am I wrong !?

You need to buy the reeflink, wireless router for your ecotech products, then log into ecosmartlive and program schedules, without you must program radion w usb cable and ecosmartlive, and wont be able to switch the modes of your vortech without pressing the buttons on the controller, the reeflink makes life so much easier.

EcoSmart Live is the online software you use to program your lights and MP's.

ReefLink lets you connect all of your Radions and MP's wirelessly for control.

If you just want to program your Radion with a USB cable, you will not need the ReefLink.

You can run the radion and mp10 without the reef link, but if you want web control of the pumps and radion, then thatsbthw reef link. I had the exact same setup and skipped the reef link . I programmed the radion via USB with Eco smart live and that's it.
