Sony cybershot DSC-H5 ?

Reef "Hobbyist"...right!?
Hello all. I am looking for a new camera and am considering the Sony DSC-H5. Any thoughts or experiences with this camera? Looking for camera with both quality auto and manual modes with good macro settings. Thank you .:)

these are from the H2, basically the same camera as the h5 but only 6 mpxl. good camera review site is dpreview.com. I" just got this camera so these are "experimental" but I am happy with the camera so far.

Very nice!
I just got an H2 and I am still waiting for my tripod to come in. I just can't hold it steady enough to get really clear shots.
Inferno: I found some links here on RC to some articles that are really helping me. I still have a LOOOONG way to go, though.
Read this It's long but worth it!
Also this one.
BTW, gregr's posts are good reads too. He really knows how to explain things well.

Nice picture and thanks for the response. I am looking for a good all around camera with high optical zoom and both auto and manual controls without moving into the SLR's. This camera seems to be it and I will probably make the purchase tomorrow. After reading lots of reviews, the main complaint is poor performance at higher ISO's (800 and above) producing grainy shots. I have not been able to find much about the macro performance on-line. More input is always welcome. I want to hear the good and bad...;)

Well, I did it today. I purchased the H5 and have played around with it a bit. I really like it so far but definitely need practice and experience to get the quality shots like I see posted here so many times. A bonus that I did not knnow was that Sony makes a couple of Wide angle and telephoto lenses that can mount in front of the existing lense of the camera. I thought I would only have that option with a SLR, although I am sure the choices are very limited in comparison to SLR lenses. I am happy about it none the less.
I will post a few pictures after I get a bit of practice.
:)
