SoS hammer head coral

So I have just upgraded to a bigger tank and had some of my corals at LFS so that I could get it stable, then move some of my more liked corals such as my hammer head ( it's a wall coral, great big wall hammer head coral) from what I was told. Well picked him up and he is not doing to hot as you can tell in the picture. Can any one please tell tips tricks to try to get them back to live? Any and all comments will help, don't have current water per Amit era as of yet waiting for results. :headwally:

Ok so I have done some digging and found and read a great deal from other older posts and reef central. I m sure this is not the cause of brown jelly. I did how ever do a another dip so ensure not Bristol worms or flat worms. I'm not sure if I should remove this guy and place him my isolation tank. Hopefully when I target feed today he will open up some. Here is a current pic with out the fish photo bombing the picture.

you need to cut it a few inch away from the dying area and do an iodide dip, you might have a shot to saving it.
dont bother feeding it. waste time since the coral is not in a decent shape atm.

if you dont you might lose the whole piece.

Best case to save a wall hammer is a really clean cut and super glue over the cut area. Hate to say it but you most likely lost it already.

Thanks for the tips / pointers . I did end up trimming about 1/4 of him down. Have since moved him to a small tank to see if he will bounce back. Been playing eye of a tiger on a continuous loop for motivational support for the hammer. Water temp is 77 salinity is at 1.023 only thing low in tank was calcium have dosed will re test water in two days

ideal you dont want to change tank since it's already stressed coral. make sure you did a iodide dip that will help to fight any infection. gl

Okay got to ask, why iodide? , I did dip it with coral rx. Coral looks to be happy in my isolation tank which uses the same water from main tank.
