Anyone seen it locally? I saw some old castle sand at HD, but it was different than the Yard Right. This stuff seemed more like it was quartz based, the grains looked and felt very different.

Hey Mac,

I think I know the sand you are referring to and I've run some tests on it. While it's aragonite, it's not Oolitic and it makes a terrible sand bed. Soaking a week in RO/DI water helps because it dissolves some of the sharp edges.

I think it would work very well for frag plugs if that's what you had in mind. When I get home I'll pull up the UPC for you to compare against. If you already have a bag just do the vinegar test to confirm it's CaCO3.
