Specific Gravity

Hi,

My specific gravity is a little higher than the 1.023-1.026 range that is recommended.

Im having a really stupid moment - do I need to add more salt or some plain RO water? Is there too much salt or too little?

By the way - just to establish what I mean by higher, I mean its currently 1.029.

You need to add RO water, without salt, to bring the salt concentration down.

1.029 is little too high, i keep mine @ 1.024

remove some water out of tank and add plain RO, wait an hour measure again

I've always maintined 1.026 @ 80 degrees.

I keep mine at 1.023@78 degrees give or take depends on tester

Just make sure you are dropping the salinity slowly. You do not want to shock your inhabitants. Bring it down over a few days by taking out a few gallons of water and replacing it with RO or DI
