Spider decorator crab

Hello. I have heard that these are really cool crabs to have in a tank. Does anyone have any experience with these? I have heard that they will pick at corals. Also would it get along with my Coral banded shrimp?

This is a pic of my dec. crab in the bucket on the way to a new home. He got way to big for my 75. You can tell by the pic they definately pick on corals I would think they wouldn't pick on shrimp.

That's awesome! Does he ever stay still long enough for the polyps to open? That's a pic I'd like to see.

How big do they get? Too big for a 75 seems huge!

they can get very big and deffilently will pick on your corals. i have had a few of them in various tanks. they are really cool crabs that never seemed to bother anything besides corals.

Here's a pic of mine when I first got him:

Currently in a 40b, don't see him very often and he's not super big. I'd warn you, if you have nice zoas, they will clip them. I had a few $20+ per polyp zoas that were first on the list. I wasn't happy.

Wow thanks for the tips guys. And I do have some nice zoas that I wouldn't want picked at. I'll probably move those to a nano once I get one set up.
