Spiders and Sundial found

Just bought a colony of new zoas. Luckily I kept them in a betta box for observation, which is something I hardly do.

For the past 24hrs, I have caught 2 spiders and 2 sundials.

Pls advise how long should I keep the colony in the betta box till it's safe to put it back in the tank?

Also, what kind of dips should I do, just to be on the safe side?

Thanks!!

I like to dip in Lugol's iodine. I'd leave them in the box for a couple of days and keep an eye on them for any more pests.

I'd do a fresh water dip...spiders, sundials...can nudi's be far behind. Look for Mucho Reef's sticky on how to do it. If there is flow thru that betta box, it's not a foolproof quarantine....eggs or something may slip out or something on your hand could drop into the water. Do a fresh water / Lugol's dip as soon as possible. Good luck.

Thanks Ladipyg and Chillman.

Will do the dipping as soon as I get home. Caught another spider on the way out to work this morning!!!

The betta box doesn't have anyholes to leak water out to the main tank. But it will at least help keep the water in the box cool, as our weather here is well over 30 deg C
