Spiny oysture ?

Thurge

What happened to my oysture? I noticed it was gaping much wider than usual two days ago. Then i came home yesterday to my cleaner shrimp sitting inside and the oysture gaping even wider. It would respond to some stimuli but wouldn't close all the way. As the day progressed i could see the mantle with the eyes slowly drawing inside the shell, so I figured it was a gonner, and when I woke up for work their was a big fat bristle worm working on it so I knew it (and was finally able to easily get the bugger) was gone (going to clean the shell when I get home, so i can save the fan work, Gorgonian, and sponge growing on the top of the shell.)
this is the only thing affected as the clam 4" away looks fine as does the other spiny oysture (in all fairness it is covered with mushrooms so it is kinda hard to see :) ) and the corals are acting normal
Salinity -1.025
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate low (lost the card but its low)
Ph 8.4
Phosphates low (don't have a kit but change Phophoban every two weeks)

rescent changes:
Added a Euroreef skimmer and had it running 24/7 (this is where my suspicions lie. I over skimmed and the poor thing starved).
Also at the same time I removed the Bio-Balls and went pure LR for filtration with a macro algae fuge.

Thanks
David

Probably starved. They have a very low survival rate (DTs doesnt cut it for these guys) and have never heard of anyone having longterm success. They are kinda like flame scalllops, 1 in 100 people can keep one, so its better not to try at all.
