Spring in Denali

Went up to the park weekend before last. Got battered by the wind! Made riding a little tough, especially since we had to climb (and of course the more fun part, decend) 3 mtn passes. Not the most amazing trip this year, but good none the less. Saw some ground squirrels in a brawl that made the UFC look tame. A Raven's nest, with raven and babies, a nice full curl sheep, and other assorted stuff. One of my favorite moments was at sunset when the setting sun lit up some spin drift being driven off a peak. Totally stunning!

Thanks Brett - yeah, it was pretty insane. Unfortunately the 1Ds Mk3 is a lot better at landscapes than grabbing action shots. Of course my lack of skill plays a roll too. I had a few missed shots of them tumbling around. Feet in the air, grass flying, and all that was sharp was the tussock of grass just off center from them. It didn't help that almost every time they engaged it was behind some rise in the ground or behind some plants! Not sure what they were fighting over, didn't see any other animals in the area (ie. Babes). It must have been over territory. What ever the reason, they were going at it pretty fiercely.
