Hey all,
Last night I was doing an after-dark flashlight inspection of my tank when I found a seed that is sprouting!
The seed is about the size of a flattened whole pepper kernel, and it is a light yellow color. The sprout coming out is shaped like a lower case "y". The first shoot is white in color, but the shoot coming off that is green, like it has been photosynthesizing.
I think it probably came in on a recent rock purchase and just didn't sprout until the conditions were right.
It is making me pretty nervous, to be truthful. It has a root coming out of it that appears as if it will be hard to get rid of if this is a bad thing.
Anyone have any idea what this could be? I haven't removed it yet, but it's under tight surveillance!
