Hi all

I have jsut added sps to my fowlr, well its has clams and anemones in it. i am wondering about supplements. i am using reef crystals for salt, I have just started using kalk and vinager. I am also dosing with iodide. What else do i need to be worried about? Does the kalk take care of mag alk and cal? Do I need to really be worried about dosing anything else? Tank is a 75 gal with just some small frags and three larger ones nothing to big or crazyu yet. I am having great coraline growth as well.

Lighting is ATI 4 bulbs in a tek fixture
I have a koralia 4 and 3 in the tank for flow.
RENA XP3 with chemipure and floss
CPR protein skimmer
Phosphate reactor

How am i looking?

Stop dosing anything you can not test for. If you cant test for it then you have no idea what your tank needs. If you have only added a few small sps frags or colonies then the RC may be enough with water changes to keep up with the needs. Why are you dosing vinegar? Stop that also you have a reactor, that will take care of po4 and water changes will take care of the nitrates. If you have high nitrates and have problems lowering then then run bio pellets in your reactor instead of GFO. With testing if you see a need for alk, ca or mag then 2 part or kalk with an ATO to dose it will take car of ca and kalk needs. If you need to sup mag then get some mag as kalk does not have any in it. I find that RC has a high enough mag that water changes keep it check. I have mostly sps and dont need to dose mag. I would get a better skimmer if you are heading to a reef tank.

ok,

I am dosing the kalk with the vinager. the vin lowers the ph of the kalk and allows all the kalk to disolve into the water. Its only a small aount of vinager I use it as top off with a drip system. The reason I started with the kalk is my alk and cal was a little low in the 300's.

I was only worried about the mag because i ran into that problem with one of my sps nanos and bleached out a lot of stuff, Ill wait on that and test later on and keep up with the water changes.

Can it hurt my tank to run the phosphate reactor too much?

I have the cpr recirculating skimmer for a 75 gal. I dont have a large bi load and it seems to work, what would you recommend, no sump remember.
