SPS color fading

Hi there! I havent been posting for the past 2 years!
I currently have a 34G solana tank with the 150W MH sunpod (3 month old 14K phoenix bulb), stock skimmer, no bioball but LR, Chemipure elite. 3 weeks ago I added 4 royal blue CREE led for some actnic supplement (and I love the result) still in a 10 hours lighting period. my tank parameters were constant but went crazy 2 weeks ago (I was not testing) Ca was at 700, Mg at 3000 and dK at 14!!! I have to say that my frogspawn started to loose color and all my sps (at the exception of the blue mili) went dull.I never had phosphate neither nitrate. I was using Oceanic Salt and I decided to get a 100% water change and new live sand. I used Tropic Marin salt mix this time and I love it. I heard a lot of good things about that salt. All parameters seem to be ok (I test everyday :)) but I have no idea why the colors still look dull. Mushrooms are fading and not really opening like they should. Thanks!

So as a recap as of yesterday:

Ca @ 450
Mg: 1800
pH @ 8.0
dK @ 9
salanity @ 1.025
Temp @ 78 constant (Chiller)
No nitrate, no phosphate

If you went from 700 PPM cal to 450 PPM, 3000PPM mag to 1800PPM, and 14DKH to 9 DKH over night, that is an extremely huge swing. Your sps wont like that. I would have gradually lowered those levels. Plus, changing the sand bed all at once wasn't good either. I would say you have to just wait it out, and try hard to keep your alk cal and mag stable as possible. Hopefully in a few weeks everything will color back up.

HTH :)

yea depleting your tank of all those nutrients and bacteria all at once may have something to do with it, but I would PM Grimreefer he may be able to help. I lean more towards a problem with your lighting and he is the lighting guru.
