sps compatability question

I've always read about "chemical warfare" amongst soft corals....but am not surewhat to believe. I'm taking some softies out of my 24 gal. to make it all LPS. I'm not sure if I should sell them or just put some of them in my main tank. The main system is way full of sps and lps and I wouldn't want to screw up the "harmony of the tank" by adding a softie. I just figured it could take up some of the areas around the bottom of the tank with less light.

Well, there is truth to the chemical warfare, but it is pretty well mitigated by skimming and using carbon. If you check out most people's tanks, they are mixed reefs, with both sps and softies, with both thriving. The biggest problem would be if they grew too close to each other. Most softies seem to have the upper hand there and will grow over your sps. HTH.
