im new to sps and need some help,my lps are doing great so i added a digititas, and a blue acropora, the branching digititas is doing great but the blue acro is slowly turning brown,i believe its because of my lighting i have a marineland deep dimension 200gal tank 48lx36wx27t and the rock work comes about halfway up,so i fear coral are not getting enough light at that depth.
,i have a oddysea 2x250 watt hqi with 4 t5 actinics the hqi's are 15,000k what light set-up do you recommend for a tank 27 inches deep with sps and should i go with t5's or 400watt mh or what? the tank has been setup for 6 months but i dont think water is the issue as everything test perfect.

nitrate is 0 (running a nitrate reactor)
nitrite is 0
ammonia is 0
phosphate is 0 (running phosphate reactor with rowaphos)
calcium is 420
alk is 9dkh
temp is 78 to 80
magnesium is 1400 to1450

have plenty of flow with vortechs and modded maxi-jet 1200's
halides are on for 6 hours actinics on for 10hours
have refugium with cheato, also run deltec ap702 skimmer,geo618 calcium reactor, everything else is fine so thats why i thinks it's the lighting, also since these are the only acros in the tank my lps say i dont have to feed anything until i get a bunch of acros,so i bought marine snow but never use it,i hope i've provided you with enough info to help me and any input is greatly appreciated

what T5 bulbs are you using as supp's? The true actinic bulbs are pretty low par and not much use. That being said you should have enough light. The coral could just be adjusting and going through an initial browning.

I would reccomend changing a couple of the T5's to a blue bulb like the ATI Blue Plus if you are running all actinic T5's. They have great PAR and also make capable blue corals pop.

thanks the actinics i have came with the oddysea fixture so i dont know the brand but i dont mind changing the t5 to blue plus, also i've heard from my lfs that i should go to 2x400 watt metal halides or 3x250 watters with 6 t5's what do you think
