So i just experienced possibly the worst visit to the reef store yet, This new guy that was in the store straight up DROPPED my sps frag AND duncan frag into the same bag, as soon as he did so i noticed that he broke of little finger of sps and i could imagine the duncan was not happy. When i say dropped, i mean like dropped from outside of the top of the bag, frag first hit the bottom, into the water. and my sps broke from it, which he is real small to begin with as i am putting him in a pico. anyways the sps frags have finally stopped producing that white slime to protect themselves, so thats good. But on both frags half of them is white and the other half totally green. I am really not experienced with sps keeping to be honest, ive had a few but nothing as nice as this one and im so ticked at how the guy handled the coral....

is breaking off a chunk like that very stressful on the sps?? is this guy going to just bleach out or will that white come back green? im terrified im going to wake up to a solid white skeleton :sad1:

The sps is showing some nice polyp extension right now, is that good sign? still very white on one side and very green on the other.

I went thru that debate in my head on the spot, should i leave him or not... but this little frag is awesome i reallllly liked it i had seen the last few times i went in but wasnt ready for sps in my tank. now i am and it was still there so i got it. He was only 10$, pico sized. Thats why i got him anyway.
no big deal, they both are looking good now.

I would never support a lfs that treat their corals like that. And if I was purchasing or trading with another hobbyist that did that, I would stop the trade and walk away.
