sps not flowereing

Have had a sps tank (700 gal) running about 9 months now. I see lots of tanks here and around town and there sps is totally flowing. When I buy frags they will flow for a week or so and then quit. Have beautiful coloring looks like a rainbow viewing my tank and terrific growth, some tripling their size in 9 mo. All parameters check great am crosschecking with test kits and meters. Even a buddy comes over from time to time and been checking my params also says they check great, his sps flows also. When checking with a flashlight at nite the sps are flowing. Anyone have a clue? My only speculation is that I have a very large blue line and scribble angel in my tank. Dont see them bothering the sps. Thought about moving them temporary but sure hate to loose these sensitive fish.

Sounds like the angels are the problem. They are nipping the sps.

Yep.

You will have to decide what you like more, the angels or the polyp extension. If your corals look good and are growing I would keep the angels!

Also, if you haven't already, you need to post some pics of this tank!

See another scribble lover, definitly one of the most gorgeous fish you can put in your tank. Thanks for feedback gonna quit worriing about it. Unless they start killing corals or my clams they will stay put

I have a similar situation in my tank, but I suspect my yellow clown goby. The only fish in the tank are him, a percula and a six line wrasse. Anyone ever seen clown gobys bothering sps? He practically lives in the stupid spa corals.

Wouldnt the six line wrasse be the more likley culprit?

I have read where yellow clown gobies irritate sps. Do have one but dont think hes a problem in my tank. Too many corals for a fish that size to bother. 2, 8 inch angels them dudes are always hungry, although out of hundreds of corals too choose from Ive only seen them pick on 2 particular corals. Both of those are at least a foot wide so dont think their hurting them.

I had the same problem with my flame angel. Took him out and PE is great now.

I could watch my flame for hours and he would not touch a coral. After suspecting him I started watching the tank from a distance where he could not see me, and sure enough he would start munching polyps. As soon as I stepped out he would instantly stop and swim around like nothing happened. I swear he knew what was going on.
